Mission Impossible 6 To Film In France, New Zealand & The UK

It seems like Mission Impossible 6 will go global when filming begins early next month. As per an update on casting site my entertainment world, the film will shoot Paris, France – as previously reported by THR – as well as undisclosed locations in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Production was originally set for 2016, with star Tom Cruise teasing a fast turnaround time while promoting the fifth entry in the popular franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation back in 2015. Production grounded to a halt last year due to a salary dispute between Cruise and Paramount. That dispute was settled in September.

No plot details have been released at this time, though the film will delve into Ethan Hunt’s background and personal life.

“I’ve seen five of these movies and I don’t know who Ethan Hunt is.” Says director Christopher McQuarrie in an interview with Empire. “One movie sort of dealt with his personal life; the other movies are about people speculating what’s really going on in Ethan’s head. I want to know who Ethan is in this movie, I want an emotional journey for this character, and Tom really embraced it.”

Christopher McQuarrie returns to the franchise after having directed and co-written the series previous instalment, Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation. Mission: Impossible 6 stars Tom Cruise & Rebecca Ferguson, with Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Alec Baldwin rumored to be returning as well. The movie is aiming for a July 27, 2018 release date.

Which global landmarks would you like to see Ethan Hunt visit? Any stunts you’d like to see in these locations?…

Captain Marvel To Film In Atlanta Early Next Year

The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps on growing. Along with the many films and television series set to air this year (starting with Iron Fist on netflix), as many as five new projects have begun shooting over the past month and a half, with many more to come.

Many previously established characters set to join together to stop the mad titan ‘Thanos’ in next years massive team up film Avengers: Infinity War. The highly anticipated movie is also rumored to include the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, before she heads off into her own solo film the following year.

Thanks to recent postings on casting sites production weekly and myentertainmentworld.com, we now know filming for Carol Danvers first solo outing will begin in early January, 2018.

The story summary listed with the posting gives a brief rundown of the characters history in the comic books, though the her origin will be changed for the film to avoid similarities with DC comics chief cosmic superhero, Green Lantern.

Captain Marvel filming date revealed

“If you were just going to do a straight adaptation of the comics, her origin story is very similar to Green Lantern. And obviously, that’s not what we want to do. There’s a lot of reinvention that needs to happen,” said screenwriter Nicole Perlman on the Any Time With Vin Forte podcast. “We have to be aware of what’s happened in other Marvel films and make sure that her particular storyline is unique and fun and also fits in within this world that’s going on at the same time.”

We expect a more detailed synopsis to release as the film heads into production early next year. Filming is set to take place in Atlanta, the same shooting location as many other Marvel entertainment films such as Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and the upcoming Ant-man and the Wasp.

Carol Danvers adopted the mantle of Captain Marvel from Kree superhero Mar-Vell

Captain Marvel will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe solo film to star a female superhero in the lead role. Scarlett Johansson has discussed her intentions to star in a solo Black Widow film, though nothing has been confirmed at this time.

Brie Larson is the only cast member currently attached to the film, though we expect some of her fellow Avengers to appear in some capacity. Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman is currently working on the films script alongside Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve. Marvel have yet to announce a director for the anticipated film.…

Marvel’s ‘The Inhumans’ Casts Its King and Queen

As Marvel’s The Inhumans prepares to begin filming, we now know who will play the heads of the royal family.

It’s been revealed that Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount has landed the role of Royal King Black Bolt, the Inhuman with a voice so powerful that it can level entire cities to the ground. It’ll be interesting to see how the character makes the transition to live action. Mount will have his work cut out for him, portraying a complex character without the use of his voice.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer in a statement on Marvel.com. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

Black Bolt’s powers render him speechless at the fear of destroying everything around him, often leaving his partner Queen Medusa to speak on his behalf. Marvel.com have also revealed that Medusa has been cast, with Ballers actress Serinda Swan filming the highly sought after role.

“Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense of great inner strength and fierce determination to the role of Medusa” said Executive Producer and showrunner Scott Buck, “I couldn’t be happier to have her as our Queen of Attilan.”

Medusa maintains the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers. A powerful figure, she helps her husband rule in the Inhuman city of Attilan.

Medusa and Black Bolt lead the Inhuman Royal family

Anson Mount and Serinda Swan join recently announced Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon in the new series.

In a first for hollywood, the first two episodes of Marvel’s The Inhumans will screen on IMAX for two weeks starting Labor Day weekend, before the series continues on ABC as part of their fall line-up. Dutch filmmaker Roel Reine is currently preparing to direct the first two episodes of the anticipated series. While Inhumans have already appeared as central figures on Marvel’s Agents of Shield, characters are not expected to crossover between the two shows. Marvel’s The Inhumans will make its network premiere on September 26, 2017 on ABC.…
