I Need Him Alive
Everyone’s favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter may be returning to the big screen after all.
The stand alone movie was first hinted at by Disney back in 2014 with Josh Trank attached as the director and an anticipated release date of 2020. Development of the film stalled after Trank announced his decision to depart the project in 2015. With Disney no longer offering any sort of updates on the film’s progress, fans have been patiently waiting to know more.
Casting site Myentertainmentworld.com have re-listed the movie as an upcoming feature film with Production set to take place in London, England, the same location as the rest of the Star Wars films.
The posting also lists a basic story outline as well:
An origin story of the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunter. Boba Fett is a Mandalorian warrior who was trained by his father-figure Jango Fett and became a notorious bounty hunter throughout the galaxy.
There are a number of years between Boba’s last appearance on the clone wars animated tv series and his appearance in A New Hope (The most recent releases of the original trilogy are considered the official canon) where a story can take place.
While Disney have yet to announce anything, signs are once again pointing to the infamous bounty hunter receiving his own movie.
