Ever since her big screen debut in last years Batman v Superman, fans have been eagerly looking forward to 2017’s double dose of Wonder Woman. With a little less than 6 months to go until her first solo movie hits the big screens, no villain has been revealed, until now.
French magazine Studio Ciné Live recently did an article on the Wonder Woman film (translated by Les Toiles Héroïques) in which they divulge some key details about the films plot and villain.
“Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. Now, it turns out that this is precisely the goal of Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (he was killed by Ares when he rebelled against him, with the help of the Amazons)…”
Ares is the ancient Greek God of war and a primary adversary of Wonder Woman and the Amazons. Fans have been speculating he would appear in the film ever since the project was first announced, with actor Danny Huston often rumored to be the big bad
The article also includes an interview with Chris Pine, who reveals some details about his character Steve Trevor:
“I play a pilot Who works for the Allies and spies on the Germans without Their knowledge. My character steals a notebook filled with scientific formulas in an Ottoman base, he steals a plane but is shot down in the open sea. “
