Filming begins this March in London
The last we heard of a sequel to the widely acclaimed film was back in 2012 when director David Cronenberg revealed during an interview with indiewire that the film was “dead,” though that no longer seems to be the case.
Body Cross (aka Eastern Promises 2) is set to commence filming this spring according to a recent posting on casting site myentertainmentworld.com. The posting also includes the first synopsis for the film confirming that it will be a direct sequel to the original 2007 movie.
There is no mention of who will be involved in making the film at this time.
The Sequel picks up where the 2007 film left off – with the incompetent underboss Kirill thinking that he and his henchman driver Nikolai really have inherited the throne from his crime-lord father, without knowing that Nikolai is actually a clandestine agent working undercover in Russia’s federal security service.
As we hear more we’ll keep you posted…
