The world’s greatest detective will team up with the world’s worst hunter in a new crossover series to be written by current Batman scribe Tom King. The writer announced the news earlier today via a posting on his personal twitter account.
No story details have been revealed, though the writing in the tweet implies the crossover will see Batman venture into the world of the Looney Tunes. DC comics and Looney Tunes are both owned by the same parent company, Time Warner.
This is not the first time in recent years that Batman has appeared in comic books with non-DC characters. 2015 saw The Dark Knight appear with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in an intercompany crossover between DC and IDW.
Although an artist has yet to be announced for the series, it seems likely that Superman: Lois and Clark and Daredevil artist Lee weeks will draw the series, given that his artwork has previously been used to tease the series.
King is also known for his work writing “Omega Men,” “Sheriff of Babylon” and Marvel Comics’ “The Vision.”
