Originally set to begin filming in June, production for Ant-Man and the Wasp has been delayed until early July, as seen in a recent update for the film’s listing on casting site myentertainmentword.com
The upcoming sequel is expected to film in Atlanta, the same location where the first film was shot. The Black Panther solo film as well as Avengers: Infinity War are both currently filming at pinewood studios in Atlanta. We expect production of those two films to be the cause of the delay in filming, as Marvel studios have yet to have three films concurrently in production.
While not much is currently known about the plot, we do know that Hope Van Dyne will make the transition into become the Wasp, as per the films title and the post credits teaser at the end of the first Ant-man film, which can be viewed below. The Wasp is also expected to appear in the currently untitled fourth Avengers film.
Ant-man and the Wasp will star Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as the title characters along with Michael Douglas and Michael Peña reprising their roles from the first film as Hank Pym and Luis respectively. It’s currently unknown if the other members of Scott and Luis crew will return for the sequel. IMDB also lists Jeremy Renner as possibly appearing in his role as Hawkeye. Peyton Reed will return to direct the sequel based on a story by Paul Rudd & Adam Mckay based on a screenplay written by Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari.
Ant-man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6th 2018.
